The Blob: A Genius Without a Brain

The blob, a billion-year-old unicellular organism, goes back to the very origin of evolution. However aged, surprises lurk behind every corner which expands our understanding about simple organisms. With the help of scientist Audrey Dussutour and her colleagues from around the world, French documentarist Jacques Mitsch describes the uncanny and unusually persistent organism. Blobs are unicellular and do not have a nervous system, but that does not stop them from creeping toward food. They show signs of intelligence and their time and space memory makes life easier.
