As a kid I used to watch it on VHS over and over again, but my admiration for the series grew even stronger as I got older. Definitely the most epic journey into prehistoric times that we have seen on TV so far, supported by flawless animation, authentic locations, great music and a beautiful storyline that is far more engaging than just a flood of information and facts. If there is one truly perfect documentary, this is the one.

Dinosaurs are my cup of tea. Ever since I was a kid I have been fascinated by these amazing creatures, their diversity, size and beauty. I first watched this series about eight years ago and always looked forward to the next episode. Each episode wasn't long, the commentary was good, and the narrator didn't try to overwhelm the audience with a lot of information at once, but gave it in bite-sized chunks. For me, it was definitely the best BBC production.

It took me twenty-one years to finish watching this documentary. Until yesterday I had only seen a few fragments. I must admit that the events on screen immediately glued me to the TV. I binge-watched all six episodes and I was almost sad it was over. The close-ups of the dinosaurs’ mouths during feeding have a dated look, and I originally wanted to give only four stars, but I had to add a fifth one for giving the finger to the Almighty and his zealous admirers. You hardly ever come across something so perfectly heretical.
