angol The groom doesn’t have a dime, the bride is a shrew, and the father is always puckering his lips at someone. A family for all of the money. Lubitsch’s comedy moves like a dance hall full of people doing the foxtrot, the humour in it is simple and in no way tasteless, the acting is exaggerated but within the limits of a madcap comedy. When it is not entertaining with its wonderful levity, The Oyster Princess holds the viewer’s attention with its director’s inventiveness (camera movement, voyeuristic shots through a keyhole, the work done with the characters in space – the group of tipsy gentlemen in the park is unforgettable). The best joke, casually set up over the course of the film, comes at the very end and is definitely worth the wait. 80% ()

angol “Didn't I sit in the front last time?" - “We were not married yet!" Simply an excellent crazy comedy full of humor of all kinds from classic slapstick to biting absurdities to unexpectedly verbal jokes. I didn't notice a single dead spot, I was excited by the decorations, and I fell in love with Ossi Oswalda and the scene with the foxtrot epidemic. Moreover, I saw The Oyster Princess with a live musical accompaniment that gave it even greater zest. ()
