Narcos (2015)

angol The series became an instant favorite of mine. What makes me like it so much is how different it is from the standard. The creators managed to create an excellent, powerful atmosphere right from the first episode. They also did an excellent job regarding action and suspense. If it hadn't been for four somewhat awkward episodes in the second half of the second season, I would have practically nothing to complain about. And I can't even say those episodes were bad, I just got too spoiled by the perfection that precedes them. I really enjoyed Agent Murphy's commentary and the use of real footage, which gave the whole series more depth. I really enjoyed this show. ()

Season 1 (2015) (S01)

angol Season 1 introduced me to an interesting series (the narrator is excellent). I really enjoyed it and got a lot of interesting information as a bonus, which made me want to check and look up additional facts. I'm always interested to see how well the filmmakers manage to create the right kind of atmosphere in a film or series. They did a great job in Narcos. I was absorbed in the plot from the very beginning and the only disappointment came when the credits rolled Then again, it makes me even more excited for the next season. ()

Leszállás (2015) (S01E01)

angol The first episode of Narcos hooked me instantly. I love shows and films with a strong atmosphere, and Narcos delivers it in spades. Along with the intense atmosphere, it also packs a solid dose of suspense and action. The creators made a smart move by interspersing the narrative with documentary footage, making the story feel all the more authentic. After just one episode, I can only praise it. ()

Simón Bolívar kardja (2015) (S01E02)

angol The episode successfully built on the foundation laid by the pilot. Unlike the USA, Colombia is depicted as a land full of opportunities. The creators have managed to maintain the intense atmosphere they initially created, with plenty of suspense and brutal action to keep me thoroughly entertained. I’m excited to see where this series goes. ()

Az örökkévalóság urai (2015) (S01E03)

angol Not only do the creators continue to maintain a high-quality atmosphere, but each episode also reveals something new about this South American land of endless possibilities, prompting me to quickly fill in the gaps in my knowledge. When a series can influence me this much, it definitely deserves a top rating. ()

A Palota lángokban (2015) (S01E04)

angol Yep, still loving it after the fourth episode. Having recently watched American Made, I especially enjoyed the scenes with Barry Seal. ()

Lesz még holnap (2015) (S01E05)

angol Still solid, but a bit weaker plot-wise compared to the earlier episodes. I’m guessing this is the calm before the storm, so I’m hopeful the next episode will be back to five-star form. Given those final minutes, I’m pretty convinced it will be. ()

Robbanóanyagok (2015) (S01E06)

angol My expectations were met. This episode was packed with tension and action, and the atmosphere was absolutely gripping with many brutal events. The Americans never disappoint me; their prioritization is flawless. I was bummed that my favorite, Luis Guzmán, exited so early. ()

Vért fogsz könnyezni (2015) (S01E07)

angol Pablo Escobar could have been a great chess player; he turned a clear checkmate into a stalemate and then flipped it into a victory. After watching the seventh episode, I can confidently say that I haven't been bored for a single second. The storyline of this episode was superbly written, with atmosphere, tension, and action all working brilliantly. ()

A nagy hazugság (2015) (S01E08)

angol Fortunately, nothing has changed — everything runs like a Patek Philippe watch. I really admire the style of the Colombian security forces: take them all down and let God sort them out. Being a hostage in Colombia must be quite the adrenaline rush. This episode was fantastic, flawless from start to finish. ()

A Katedrális (2015) (S01E09)

angol It's official: Narcos is a top-tier series. Nine episodes in, and I haven't been disappointed once. This episode was truly intense. ()

Felszállás (2015) (S01E10)

angol Like the previous episodes, the finale was brilliantly written and directed, with the usual fantastic atmosphere. It was fascinating to watch government officials waver between justice and varying degrees of evil. Despite the entire episode building up to one big final action, I was thoroughly entertained the whole time. ()

Season 2 (2016) (S02)

angol I enjoyed the second season, too. I couldn't help but notice the difference in quality between its first and second half, though. The first half had everything I love about this series: atmosphere, action and tension. Episode 4 was the absolute best of the series so far, so I was really annoyed by how things slowed down in the last four episodes. There were long scenes with hardly any plot, obviously meant to set up some sort of sentimental mood, but it just didn't do it for me. ()

Végre szabadon (2016) (S02E01)

angol At first, I thought the pace was a bit slow, and I was ready to give it "only" four stars. But then it picked up just the way I'm used to. I'm absolutely fascinated by the contrast between the lazy calmness and the sudden bursts of raw violence paired with a complete disregard for life. A real treat. ()

Csere (2016) (S02E02)

angol Is the second season trying a new approach? This episode had a slower pace, leading up to an explosive burst of pure brutality at the end. I’m on board; it works for me. Comparing different professions, I’d rather be a coal baron. Sure, a narco baron makes more money, faster, but their life is far too wild. ()

A madridi emberünk (2016) (S02E03)

angol My favorite character, Colonel Carrillo, made a return, fighting fire with fire. Once again, he didn’t disappoint, being behind almost every action-packed moment in an episode that focused more on planning for the future. Luckily, I don't mind the conversation-heavy parts as long as they’re relevant, and here, they definitely were. ()

A jó, a rossz, és a halott (2016) (S02E04)

angol I’m not sure if the creators will be able to top this episode. It was something phenomenal, with a thick atmosphere, intense suspense, and brutal action. I wouldn’t want to be in that poor woman's shoes – no matter what she does, she ends up angering someone powerful. ()

Az ellenségem ellensége (2016) (S02E05)

angol As I expected, this episode didn’t quite reach the heights of the previous one, but there’s no reason to dock it a star. The plot had interesting developments, chaos in Medellín escalated even further, and the episode ended on a nicely open note. ()

Los Pepes (2016) (S02E06)

angol Another fantastic episode where the atmosphere, tension, and action were even better than usual. After the first season, I was worried that the second might disappoint, but I'm still having a great time. Things are heating up, and though Pablo Escobar is still putting up a fight, it's clear he's on a downward spiral. ()

Németország 93 (2016) (S02E07)

angol This episode lost some momentum. The scenes with Duque and Escobar's family's trip to Germany and back felt unnecessarily drawn out and slowed the story down quite a bit. But I get it, we're nearing the end, and it seems like they're starting to stretch things out a bit. ()
