angol At times, it reminded me a lot of the classic Resident Evil due to borrowed plot elements, an attempt at revenge on a woman, but ultimately, I also felt like I was watching a bit of Batman, just without Batman. Sure, plot-wise it's not particularly nourishing, but visually it's really enjoyable to watch. ()

angol Definitely the best animated zombie film I've seen so far. I had been eagerly anticipating this film for six months, and I fully enjoyed the trailer. For those who haven’t played the games but have only seen the films, it might not be quite as satisfying, but combining the two best male heroes of this game saga into one film? I couldn’t pass that up. I was pleased with the English dubbing, especially with Mercer, who’s already a proven choice for Leon. Chris was like a mountain of muscle here, referencing the fifth and sixth games, but I personally prefer his more normal physique from the first game, as it suits him better (though I didn’t mind it too much). The story was surprisingly interesting, everything made sense, and it moved along nicely. The action was probably the best element, something the film could really “show off.” The opening scene in the vast building full of infected got me hooked (although there was also a hugely illogical scene where a soldier from an anti-bioterrorism unit sees a clearly zombified kid and asks him if he's okay? And then, because of his actions, a group of soldiers gets wiped out? Sorry, but that’s a massive plot hole). I also appreciated the John Wick-style shootout. The final fight with the charismatic villain Arias tied everything together nicely. Apart from a few minor flaws, it was an excellent watch. I should also mention that the film's visuals are great, though the facial expressions could use a bit more work. I give it 85%. ()
