(FOX)

Harry Bosch - A nyomozó (2014)

angol I have rated all seven seasons highly, which is certainly not a coincidence. It is also not a coincidence that I enjoyed a series based on my favorite author's books. I am sure that if the creators had not strayed too far from the source material, my overall rating would be five stars. However, they embarked on a path of frequent innovations, many of which led to a storyline that did not captivate me, so it didn't quite reach the highest rating. Nevertheless, I acknowledge that it was by no means a waste of time, that I was delighted, and I will immediately start watching Legacy. / Lesson learned: Michael Connelly knows what he's doing and is worth reading. ()

Season 1 (2014) (S01)

angol I am extremely pleased with the first season of Bosch. I must highlight the incredible atmosphere that you can feel despite this being an almost feel-good series thanks to the title character. Overall, the creators have managed to put together an interesting mixture of comfort, suspense and a certain gloominess, while also nailing the casting of the individual characters. I couldn't be happier. ()

Idény (2014) (S01E01)

angol I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The story is just starting to take shape, but it grabbed my attention right from the beginning, which doesn’t always happen. I'm intrigued to see how both plotlines (the investigation and the court case) will develop. Plus, the creators have introduced a bunch of promising characters. ()

Fény az alagút végén (2015) (S01E02)

angol I was a bit thrown off by the changes in the cast. I had no idea why they were calling that woman in the courtroom Miss Chandler until I realized what was going on. Despite these changes, the story and its fantastic atmosphere remain unaffected. The plot is tense and engaging, yet the titular character somehow brings a sense of complete calm. It's quite peculiar. Lance Reddick's portrayal of Irvin Irving is simply perfect. ()

Az igazságosztó (2015) (S01E03)

angol It really annoyed me that the creators used such nonsense in an otherwise excellent story. For instance, when the forensic expert holds a skull photo in one hand and a person's photo in the other, and without any measurements or equipment, declares they are the same person. That just didn't sit well with me. ()

Fugazi (2015) (S01E04)

angol I have a small technical gripe again. While the story is working brilliantly for me, with the murder investigation and trial now joined by political maneuvering, the creators seem to be toying with me since the last episode. This time, it felt like a shell game. "Here's the flashlight, now it’s gone! Bet a thousand on the flashlight!" ()

Anya kicsi fia (2015) (S01E05)

angol With each episode, I'm enjoying Lance Reddick as Irvin Irving more and more. Honestly, I'd vote for him to play Fantomas, no blue paint required – he's that perfect for the role. The story keeps getting more intriguing and complex, the atmosphere remains top-notch, and I'm thoroughly entertained. ()

Ezer éve (2015) (S01E06)

angol Despite a significant portion of the episode taking place during a Christmas visit with his daughter in Las Vegas, I didn't mind at all. These detours give the characters more depth and make them feel well-rounded. I imagine Bosch had a real dilemma after that phone call from Waits – trying to decide if the guy has a phenomenal memory for numbers or just a serious issue with personal hygiene. ()

Elveszett fiúk (2015) (S01E07)

angol A decent episode. Hieronymus has to juggle his investigation with personal dilemmas and confront his troubled past again. There's always something to watch, even if the case itself hasn't made huge strides. ()

Egyszer fent, egyszer lent (2015) (S01E08)

angol Alright, it's official — I'm hooked. It would take something really weird happening in the last two episodes to ruin my overall impression. This one keeps up the energy and atmosphere, even as the investigation sometimes takes a backseat to the political maneuvering and petty squabbles among the police chiefs and precinct staff. ()

Elvarázsolt kastély (2015) (S01E09)

angol The episode wrapped up one of the concurrent investigations, but what really hooked me was the development in the relationships. I found myself more intrigued by the personal dynamics than the actual police work. This series continues to captivate me. ()

Mi és ők (2015) (S01E10)

angol The finale kept up the show's high standards. Irvin Irving's politicking is starting to impact even those not directly involved, yet the investigation pushes forward regardless. While this episode balances moments of tension with a laid-back vibe, the funeral scene for Arthur brings the bleak atmosphere to a peak. ()

Season 2 (2016) (S02)

angol Watching Season 2, I wasn’t sure if it would keep up the quality of the previous season, but it did. The creators maintained the great atmosphere and suspense from the first season, grafted it onto a very elaborate story with many converging plotlines, and let Titus Welliver as Hieronymus Bosch go through some personal turmoil while investigating, which is one of the reasons why I enjoyed the series so much. Even though the season doesn't have a frantic pace and often doesn't deal with the investigation at all, and focuses more on the characters' family issues, I wasn't bored for a moment. I can’t wait to see what Season 3 has to offer. ()

Csomagtartó blues (2016) (S02E01)

angol Season two kicks off with Hieronymus returning to duty, and everything works just as well as it did in the first season. However, at times, it felt like I was watching a rerun. The investigation gets going again, which is fine, but the Grand Jury sessions are eerily similar to the trial process from season one. It feels like they're sticking to a proven formula, which is a bit disappointing. ()

A titkok természete (2016) (S02E02)

angol Alright, the Grand Jury subplot has been shelved for now, so the repetitive element is gone, and my satisfaction has quickly risen. I'm glad Bosch's mother's case is back in play and the increasingly open power struggles are intriguing. But what really made me happy was the added humor — so dry it’s almost a fire hazard. ()

Éjjeli áldozat (2016) (S02E03)

angol The episode wasn’t bad, but it lacked the effortless flow of the earlier ones. It felt like the script was trying to juggle too many storylines, pushing the main plot into the background. If the creators keep this up, they risk overcomplicating things and the series could end up just average. ()

És a szerencsés nyertes… (2016) (S02E04)

angol The show really hit its stride again, and I hope it keeps this up. Hieronymus' work is seeping into his personal life a bit too much, and the political scheming among the top brass is escalating into an all-out war. It's intense and gripping. ()

A szívroham (2016) (S02E06)

angol The episode wasn't particularly extraordinary, but I owe the creators an apology. I was wrong to criticize the number of plot threads — everything fits together seamlessly, like an overpriced building set from a certain unnamed company. I'm very satisfied. ()

Kiszállás (2016) (S02E07)

angol The story continues to unfold in a great way. The only thing that really bugged me was the initial wave of melodrama pouring out of the screen. I get the sadness, but why the creators felt the need to go to such extremes is beyond me. ()

Kövesd a pénzt! (2016) (S02E08)

angol That was solid. All the storylines merged, and it was definitely worth it. For an American series, there isn't an overwhelming amount of wild action, so the scene in front of the bank is a real shocker. I expect the story to ramp up nicely in the final two episodes. Can't wait! ()
