Season 1 (2014) (S01)

angol I’m not saying it’s bad, but it's not exactly good either – just average. What annoyed me the most was that I kept feeling like I’d seen it all before. For instance, the beginning with the dead plane is practically the same as Dracula's arrival in London in the 1992 movie starring Gary Oldman, the vampire killer is indistinguishable from Van Helsing and the main monster looks like the original Nosferatu. Plus, there are the standard clichés and illogicalities in the plot, which aren’t doing the series any favors. My personal gripe is that the creators didn't even bother to use the correct rank in the concentration camp scenes – an officer with the rank of major is addressed as a colonel. I know it's not a huge mistake but it was unnecessary. The only thing I liked in the whole first season was Corey Stoll's full head of hair. Otherwise, it’s an easy watch, which is okay with your brain switched off. ()

Season 2 (2015) (S02)

angol The first three episodes made me feel like I was going to see a significant improvement over the first season, but from the fourth episode onwards the quality dropped back down to what I was used to. Admittedly, there is a significant increase in action but there are also perplexing logic holes. The season deals with relationships that I don't care about as I basically couldn’t care less about any of the characters. The only person I find likable is Fet the exterminator. I don't know what went wrong, but the word "moron" seemed to light up over the heads of all the other positive characters. The plot stagnated like trench warfare and all the actions of those bright fellows were disgustingly predictable. ()

Brooklyn (2015) (S02E01)

angol I enjoyed this much more compared to the first season. It seems I've gotten used to the characters, who initially didn't seem that great or original to me. The storyline also felt more engaging and original this time around. ()

Bármi áron (2015) (S02E02)

angol Another decent episode. The story continues smoothly and develops well, but the logic seems a bit off. The streets are full of people, yet some are desperately hiding in warehouses - a bit strange. ()

Az ellenállás erődje (2015) (S02E03)

angol The episode kept up the pace, and I was generally pleased with it. The plot continues to move along well, and I liked the idea with the dropper. However, I didn’t quite get why Dutch visited her ex's mom — it felt like filler to me. ()

Gyors és fájdalommentes (2015) (S02E05)

angol Episode five ramped up the action but also brought more logical inconsistencies. For instance, I can't fathom why someone would shave their head to avoid being recognized as the famous CDC doctor, only to flash their CDC badge at every checkpoint. Equally puzzling is the choice to wear protective gear around infected strangers but then touch an infected relative with bare hands and even kiss him on the forehead. Makes no sense at all. ()

Identity (2015) (S02E06)

angol The episode didn't do much for me. Corey Stoll's bald look is more distracting than anything, and his mission to spread the vampire cure feels utterly implausible. It's just the same repetitive head-chopping and brain-blasting scenes. The werewolf-spider hybrid gang is getting tiresome, especially since they still haven't gotten rid of Zach, who is not only annoying but also ugly. The storyline with Gus and Angel feels unnecessary, like the writers were just trying to fill in the blanks. ()

A Félvér (2015) (S02E07)

angol Episode seven felt like it was stuck in a rut. A lot was happening, but the story didn't actually move forward. Everyone talked a lot without saying much, and every time someone turned over a stone, a new or previously lost character emerged. Overall, the episode came off as pretty dull. ()

Behatolók (2015) (S02E08)

angol The episode didn't bring anything new to the table. The plot continues to circle without any real progress. The writers are trying to enhance the show's atmosphere with various intrigues, but none of it really works. The cast is probably too large, meaning not everyone fits into a single episode, which drags the story unnecessarily. It feels like it's high time for a few characters to meet a heroic end. ()

Az Ütközet (2015) (S02E09) Boo!

angol The most interesting part of this episode is the different opening credits and theme music. Otherwise, it's just a lot of frustration. Red Hook is isolated so perfectly that no one can get in, unless they're clever enough to get an inflatable mattress and land without any problems. This allows them to disable a critical power plant, provided they get past the robust defense of four bored security guards. As for the tactics of the security forces fighting off a crowd of infected, let's not even go there... ()

Az orvlövész (2015) (S02E10)

angol Not as dumb as the previous episode, but that doesn't mean it's good. It feels like the writers can't come up with a solid additional plot, so we're stuck with the main storyline while all the subplots seem pointless. The heroes leave their hideout with a goal in mind, there's some shooting and head-chopping, but nothing significant happens, no objective is achieved, and everyone ends up back with Fet. It reminds me of the first season of Lost. ()

Zsákutca (2015) (S02E11)

angol Aside from a funny retro segment with Eichhorst, essentially pointless. The villain kidnaps one of the heroines, and there's a scene with a pineapple that evokes memories of 9 1/2 Weeks. Despite the threat of a humiliating end by being drained through intimate parts, the villain predictably fails, and everything turns out alright in the end. ()

Fénytelenül (2015) (S02E12)

angol Episode twelve focuses more on the relationships between the main characters, which, frankly, don't interest me at all. I couldn’t care less about who's sharing a bed with whom; I'm more interested in a significant plot development. However, the story seems to be eating its own tail like an Ouroboros. There might be a glimmer of hope with Gus's storyline being woven into the main plot. Let's see where it goes. ()

Vonattal az éjszakába (2015) (S02E13)

angol Ugly Boy finally caused the death of someone from the main cast. On the flip side, I was surprised that even in the last episode of the season, the plot only moved forward insignificantly. ()
