Egy balféknek is jár a boldog esküvő. Doug (Josh Gad) legalábbis ebben reménykedik, így menyasszonyának, álmai nőjének azt hazudja, hogy rengeteg barátja van, vagy hét vőfélyt szervezett már a legjobb cimbikből és a tanúja pedig a legeslegjobb haver lesz. A lagzi viszont vészesen közeledik, és Doug képtelen beújítani legalább egy balekot, akit otthon bemutathatna. Így jut el Jimmy (Kevin Hart) cégéhez. A nagydumás kiscsávó vállalata pont a Doughoz hasonló lúzerek miatt megy jól: hívásra régi iskolatársnak, gyerekkori pajtásnak adja ki magát, igény szerint tanú vagy vőfély. A lényeg, hogy hazudik, mint a vízfolyás, és mestere a sosem volt közös emlékek kitalálásának és előadásának. Ő szervezi össze azt a hét gyanús figurát is, akiknek az a feladata, hogy Doug legjobb barátainak képében megédesítsék pirulós és dadogós, de nagyon szerelmes hősünk élete nagy napját. De az is lehet, hogy végül inkább tönkre teszik. (InterCom)

The best comedy of the year if not the last decade. This one absolutely flew under my radar because of the not-so-familiar cast. Kevin Hart is a great entertainer on the level of the Wayans brothers. The film has all the elements I love in comedies (dancing and partying, smart women, quirky individuals, perverted humor, queer and apt jokes). As a plus, an excellent idea and lots of deep thoughts regarding women, marriage, friendship and all the stuff around it. I’ve seen it three times now and each time I've ended up under the table with an uncomfortable seizure, I haven't laughed so heartily and honestly in a long time. Perfect stuff whose wisdom I will definitely use in the future.

Right from the start, I had a feeling it was going to be complete nonsense, and I wasn't far off. It was the kind of simple, mindless fun that's perfect for giving your brain a break. You can't expect a plot that demands much from the viewer. Now, don't get me wrong — I don't reject these types of movies. They're great for passing the time while doing those mundane household chores. From that perspective, I could easily give the film three stars. However, the creators should stick to what works for them — humor. While it succeeded in some places, it often got cringey when they tried to get all moral or emotional with the story. / Lesson learned: If you're in the United States, it pays to be sociable. It might come in handy when you want to get married.
