A főnököktől nehéz megszabadulni. Nick, Dale és Kurt (Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis), a három jó barát, aki jobb híján gyilkosságra is vállalkozott volna, hogy megmeneküljön a basáskodó főnökök rabigájából, végleg a maga ura akar lenni. Magánvállalkozásba kezdenek, ám a főnöktelenség örömei nem sokáig tartanak. Egy ravasz befektető (Christoph Waltz) tönkreteszi őket, és ők – jogi lehetőségek, és jobb híján – emberrablással próbálják megoldani a helyzetet. A mágnásnak ugyanis van egy kellemetlen, elkényeztetett nagyfia (Chris Pine), akit az isten is túsznak teremtett. A váltságdíj pont megmentheti a három lükét a csődtől. Egyedül azt felejtették ki a számításból, hogy a) teljesen alkalmatlanok b) a barátaik segítsége csak tovább ront a helyzetükön. Jó szereposztás (a mellékszereplőket is beleértve), kevésbé kiszámítható, mint várnánk, és meglepően közönséges. Nincs szünet, non-stop szórakozás.

I laughed so hard! For me, a class above the first part. A funny and interesting script complemented by excellent one-liners and a great selection of my favourite stars. Chris Pine shines again here (he’s getting better, he was hilarious in Stretch), a great sex-obsessed Jennifer Aniston, and the horny mothers make this comedy a great cocktail. I also enjoyed the interesting twists and turns and especially my favorite Keegan-Michael Key. A pleasant surprise after a long time. 85%.

I can't help it, but lately, I don't find the films labeled as comedies by American distributors funny at all. I quite liked this trio of annoying idiots in the first installment, but it's only now that I've realized it wasn't really them, but their bosses. This time around, it's the supporting characters that steal the spotlight much more. The trio can be so annoying at times that you hope they'll just shrink down to zero.

It seemed that this type of sequel (where everything is even more absurdly entangled) had already died out. The fun with Jennifer Aniston is tiresome this time around, the underused Christoph Waltz is surprising, and above all, the central trio does not work as a group of broken losers whom I want to cheer for, but as a pair of incapable fools occasionally slowed down by the moderate Jason Bateman. The clearer the buddy atmosphere is in front of the camera, the more painful the outcome.

I can’t help but feel like the sequel is a lot loopier than the first movie. Along with that comes an even loopier, crazier trio and their momentary idiocy which drove me nuts every now and then. Anyway, those three are charmers and even if they didn’t really do anything, they’d still be a joy to watch. However, Jennifer Aniston felt more like an accessory to me than a proper character. The story is one big slapstick and if you tune to the wavelength of its humor, you’ll be satisfied.
