Starring Joan Fontaine in her final major film role, The Witches comes from the pen of the legendary Nigel Kneale. At the end of the film, you suddenly realize that nothing significant happened. The clock strikes again, life goes on in the old spirit, and everything is fine. The film probably won't leave much of an impression on you, but on the other hand, at least you'll be reminded of a slightly different poetic style that I quite like. Don't expect terrifying scenes, but at least a somewhat mysterious atmosphere, which unfortunately the creators disrupt by placing it in too direct a light, where no scares can exist.
