A loose sequel that begins where the last movie ended. Unfortunately, it merely recycles what worked excellently in The Copper Tower. Okay, there are still quality actors here, the majestic foothills of the High Tatra mountain range too, but it lacks the power of “friendship above all" that formed the basis of the first movie. The screenplay is relatively boring and uninteresting, the music is the same, the locations identical. The whole thing is purely superfluous, nicely acted nothing. It’s watchable, but sub-standard in terms of quality. (2005.04.24)

The Copper Tower tells a story of friendship, betrayal, death, and the majesty of mountains – in other words, of topics that are grand, significant, and strongly archetypal. Eagle's Feather, on the other hand, closely follows that story in terms of plot, but definitely not in terms of genre or quality. Where the lodge was once a symbol, it is now just a secondary backdrop. Where friendship could be considered indestructible, there are now only snatches of the adventures of two unappealing loafers, and most of the plot is, without exaggeration, moronic. If I look the other way, I can maybe understand the attempt at a car chase or the rustling of papers with Lieutenant Pardek, but the only storyline I welcome is the main one with Prašivec. Still, I could still lower the rating even further for those scenes where the sweaty peasant Valera is repeatedly and unreasonably chasing after the barely legal Andrea Čunderlíková. Fulfilling erotic fantasies in praise of the Slovak countryside seriously has no place here. (2024.06.03)

The loose sequel to The Copper Tower is still a drama, but this time with comedic elements. The result is not bad at all. The Copper Tower was definitely a better film, but I liked this one, too. The main difference is that I laughed more, and the dramatic plot was a bit weaker. Anyway, the High Tatra Mountains were still the most dominant feature of both these films.
