Feketevíz (2012) (S02E09)

angol This episode really took me by surprise. I was expecting a build-up to the battle, a quick cut, and then a tally of the dead afterward, but no, this time they actually showed the battle in all its glory. When they weren't preparing for war, they were right in the thick of it. Despite a few extras who clearly didn't pay attention during choreography and looked a bit silly in the fight scenes, the episode as a whole worked wonderfully. Cersei's monologue to Sansa was a perfect touch, and overall, I was very satisfied. ()

Valar Morghulis (2012) (S02E10)

angol A solid ending to the second season. The creators finally managed to inject some excitement into Daenerys's storyline, and interesting things started happening beyond the Wall and in King's Landing. As usual, Lord Varys was highly entertaining, while Shae continued to get on my nerves. Though I preferred the previous episode, this one still wrapped things up nicely. ()

Season 3 (2013) (S03)

angol There were many things I liked about the third season, especially House Lannister. Not a single member of the family annoyed me. I also enjoyed Daenerys’s storyline more, as it wasn’t limited to a long journey from point A to point B this time. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for what was happening beyond the Wall. Excellent scenes too often alternated with boring or weird ones (especially Jon’s actions). What I definitely liked was the final solution of the Stark question, but I was disappointed by the episodes with almost zero plot, a lot of prattle, and virtually no story development. ()

Valar Dohaeris (2013) (S03E01)

angol The episode surprised me by making the most interesting developments occur beyond the Wall and with Daenerys, which were the slowest parts of the previous season. The story feels a bit like it's treading water, and I was slightly disappointed with Tyrion's storyline, as I expected more from it. ()

Hirdetés

Sötét szárnyak, sötét szavak (2013) (S03E02)

angol The second episode follows in the footsteps of the first, with nothing major happening, just minor developments. I can't even enjoy Tyrion Lannister's witty remarks because he's constantly stuck with the annoyingly unlikeable Shae. To make matters worse, a new character I dislike has been introduced: Jojen Reed. ()

A büntetés útja (2013) (S03E03)

angol The best of the third season so far. Edmure Tully's humiliation was entertaining, the rearranging of chairs at the Small Council meeting was hilarious, and Podrick's unexpected success had me in stitches. Plus, the events in Astapor and beyond the Wall started to gain momentum. The episode had a great atmosphere and a fantastic ending, leaving me finally satisfied. ()

És őrsége most véget ér (2013) (S03E04)

angol Another top-notch episode with a strong ending, captivating storyline, and great atmosphere, which isn’t always a given with this series. There was plenty of action, but the quality of the dialogue stood out too. The conversation between Varys and Olenna was a highlight, and I was thoroughly entertained by Varys's revenge. ()

Akit a tűz megcsókolt (2013) (S03E05)

angol Not bad, but the previous two episodes were slightly better. Daenerys's storyline was once again slow and on the sidelines, and the same goes for the events beyond the Wall. This time, the focus was on the Brotherhood, Jaime, and King's Landing. ()

A mászás (2013) (S03E06)

angol The creators decided to spice up this episode with almost no plot development, and I'm not impressed. The events crucial to the story’s progression could have easily fit into ten minutes. On the upside, rock climbing enthusiasts probably enjoyed this one, though Ygritte’s climb finale was laughably weak. At least Littlefinger’s monologue at the end was worth it. ()

A medve és a szűz (2013) (S03E07)

angol If it hadn’t been for the strong ending, I would have rated it just two stars. But that final scene bumped it up a bit, as the last few minutes were more interesting than the rest of the episode combined. I’ve seen episodes that were heavily dialogue-driven and still rated them positively, but those conversations were impactful. When the most dramatic part of the episode is Shae’s (almost) monologue about her status after Tyrion’s wedding, something’s off. ()

Második fiak (2013) (S03E08)

angol Finally, a change for the better. This episode was still heavy on dialogue, but it wasn’t just dull chatter — the difference was immediately noticeable. Tyrion carried most of the episode, and it was a joy to watch and listen to him. The creators also breathed new life into Daenerys’s storyline, and I wish my favorite character, the Hound, would get more screen time. ()

Castamere-i esők (2013) (S03E09)

angol One of the few truly action-packed episodes. It felt like an entirely different creative team took over for this one. Every storyline delivered intense action, and the wedding massacre was just the cherry on top. ()

Mhysa (2013) (S03E10)

angol The finale felt weaker than the previous one. On a personal note, I'm not a fan of Bran's storyline at all and I'm not looking forward to its return in the next season. That said, I do enjoy the show whenever these characters are on screen: The Hound, the Lannisters, and Varys. They are the main reason behind my rating. ()

Season 4 (2014) (S04)

angol Season 4 brought a number of great moments, but it didn't fix the biggest problem with the entire series – all the blathering. I think the best example is the conversation between Tyrion and Jaime in Episode 8 about bugs and Orson Lannister, just brilliant. All I can say is WHY?? The Wall is partially cloudy, with less interesting scenes still dominating, just like Daenerys' storyline. The Hound and Arya Stark, on the other hand, were excellent throughout. ()

Két kard (2014) (S04E01)

angol The episode maintained a solid standard. What stood out to me were the conversation between Tywin and Jaime, the adventures of Arya and the Hound, and the introduction of Prince Oberyn. I’m curious about the sly guy claiming to be Daario Naharis and why everyone seems to believe him. ()

Az oroszlán és a rózsa (2014) (S04E02)

angol I’m not quite sure why the second episode started the way it did. To remind us that something’s off with Ramsay Bolton? I got that last season, so... why? After that, I thoroughly enjoyed Jaime’s training with Bronn and especially the royal wedding surprise. I just wish Bran Stark would wander out of the story. ()

A láncok leverője (2014) (S04E03)

angol A surprisingly good episode. The Hound has always been a favorite of mine, but he's becoming even more entertaining as time goes on. For some reason, watching him reminded me of Terminator 2 and the whole idea of teaching an old cyborg new tricks. After some slow pacing, Daenerys's storyline is picking up again, and hopefully, things will start to get more exciting at the Wall too. ()

Hűség (2014) (S04E04)

angol The conversations between Jaime and Bronn, and Tyrion and Brienne were a highlight, as well as the final scene and some moments from Daenerys’s Lincoln-esque campaign. As usual, I found Jon’s scenes boring, Bran’s storyline downright annoying, and the remaining dialogues unnecessary. ()

Első ezen a néven (2014) (S04E05)

angol The episode was so unremarkable that I really have to think hard to remember what it was about. I suspect that George R.R. Martin created the character of Bran Stark just to ensure that he’d constantly get on my nerves if his books were ever turned into a series. That was a pretty sneaky move on his part. ()

Isten és ember törvénye (2014) (S04E06)

angol I was going to give this episode just three stars due to the abundance of unnecessary conversations and the pointless Ironborn attack on Moat Cailin. Seriously, what purpose did that scene serve other than being filler? However, the trial and Tyrion's flawless performance made me change my mind. ()
