It drags a bit, but the atmosphere is great, the viewers literally immerse themselves in the mind of the protagonist, and along with him are taken aback by what happens and dread what comes next. Clint Eastwood's typical cool directorial style was already evident in his debut, and I really resent him for the few jump scares because I was jumping in my seat.

Hey Mr. DJ, hit play on "Misty," but don’t invite her over—she's a little off her rocker. The directorial debut of the "sexual cowboy" was just like the directors he had worked with before. Some things were good (tightening the screws of suspense, the funny bits with the detective who wants to play requests), while others were bad (overly dramatic scenes, the erotic interlude in nature combined with picking off ticks). Personally, I’m strictly against any violence towards women, but here Clint unnecessarily hesitated too long with his famous right hook.

Even in his directorial debut, Clint Eastwood showed that he was destined for greatness in Hollywood. This psychological drama is not only well-crafted for its time but also remains relevant today. It's gritty and uncompromising, showcasing the signature style Clint is known for.
