Az Egyesült Államok kormányának megbízásából egy eldugott szigeten titkos állatkísérleteket végeznek katonai célokra. Dr. Richardson és lánya, Susan (Michelle Borth) radioaktív anyaggal kezelnek egy varánuszt és egy királykobrát, amelyek gigantikus méretűre nőnek, s felfalnak mindent. Come on, you guys are taking this way too seriously! You know how cool it is to put on Wynorski's magnum opus, crack open a beer, enjoy the genre clichés, laugh at the bad visual effects and the tragic actors, and guess with a friend which of the characters will be the next to die? The first one had to be the smoker, that's for sure, it's a pest today and we had a 100% guessing success rate until the very end, shame the ending spoiled it for us.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to tonight's match between the 16-bit Cobra and the Varan, who looks slightly better than the plush toy lying above your bed. The Cobra, which looks like it came out of a time machine and digital effects from a year that no longer exists. Varan, on the other hand, is doing a little better. It's just a shame about the scrappy graphics that turned Varan into a character from the Tomb Raider video game, which had revolutionary graphics in 1997. However, this film, may it rest in peace, was created in 2005. Nevertheless, let's focus on the fight itself, which is about to begin. But wait, neither Cobra nor Varan started tearing each other's plush insides out, they decided to team up to tear apart a few idiots who wander around the island thinking how intelligent they are when they are actually not. There are plenty of corpses, but it's all completely stupidly brutal. I'll leave it up to you to decide who eventually won. I really didn't want to count the dead, and a few minutes before the end, I passed out. And I didn't mind at all.

If you look forward to the scenes where the monster appears in most movies with giant monsters, and you don't enjoy the scenes where the monster doesn't appear and people are just talking, Komodo vs. Cobra is the exact opposite. Here, you aren’t going to enjoy the scenes with monsters and instead you'll enjoy the scenes with people where the actors try to act a bit. Even so, you won't be too impressed with the film because it's simply weak. Very weak.
