A Barry B. Benson nevű méh most végzett a főiskolán és csalódottan kell tudomásul vennie, hogy az élet számára egyetlen pályát kínál: a mézet. Ám hősünket nem olyan fából faragták, hogy csak úgy beálljon a nyájba, jobban mondva a rajba. Sikerül kiharcolnia, hogy a pollengyűjtő osztag magával vigye egy körútra a kason kívülre, a nagyvilágba. És itt kezdődnek az igazi bonyodalmak. Egy virágnak nézett teniszlabda, egy kis eső, no meg egy jószívű hölgy és Barry élete fenekestül felfordul. Nem elég, hogy megszegi a kas szabályát, miszerint a méheknek szigorúan tilos az emberekkel társalogniuk, de sokkoló felfedezést tesz: rájön, hogy az emberiség ellopja a méhek mézét! The animation is unfortunately not great, but otherwise a nice story about the life of bees. The humor wasn't particularly sophisticated either, but it was kind of light and breezy. So I'll call it "kind of a slightly above average movie break". It's something between 3 and 4. I'm giving it a 3 because the competition is stiff.

An average cartoon with some very funny jokes (Larry King, Sting...), one amazing scene of the first "trip" from the hive (it’s really something) and... And then nothing more. Even the creative aspects fail to impress, and apart from the discovery that the bees are actually pilots as if taken from Top Gun, there is a lack of proper ideas. I found the trial plot to be... Hmmm... Awkward. So, as I said, average in terms of everything.

My girlfriend and I indeed enjoyed it at the movie theater; we laughed and something stuck in our minds. But when I was about to watch the film for the second time, I somehow wondered why I would want to do that. Yeah, it's still evident that it's well thought out, especially the bee world, and besides, there are good jokes, and it tries to convey a message. It’s still pleasant.
