A harmincas évek elején az Egyesült Államok még mindig az alkoholtilalom törvényében vergődik. A zűrös időszakban élik világukat a gengszterek, a klubok, lokálok tömve emberekkel. Úgy tűnik, ebből a helyzetből nincs menekvés. (HBO Europe)

angol I love Outkast and their music... before "Idlewild." That album just never grew on me. They have much better stuff, and I have to say I would probably like a movie based on "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below" more. "Idlewild" still has good music, but it's just not as memorable anymore, it's different. The same goes for the film, with many interesting elements, but overall, this mafia drama is overcooked and unfortunately lengthy. ()

angol OutKast should have resigned themselves to a jukebox musical and made some proper music videos, toured with their latest album "Idlewild" and everyone would have been fine. Thus, the memory of this exceptional duo becomes somewhat bitter as they signed their names to the greatest black cliché imaginable. Small town, prohibition, and the road to happiness, lined with curvy ladies of color that would put even Joe Baker to shame. The a-historical music in this pretend retro doesn't make the slightest sense, nor does the belief that André 3000 and Big Boi know what acting is all about. Maybe the talking rooster should have given them some advice. ()
