Az első negyedóra szimpatikus módon bemutatja a szereplőket, és megörvendez a kedvenc színészek jelenlétével. De a helyzet kiélesítése után kezdődik az infantilis tévés produkció, olyan humorral, amihez valószínűleg nekem nincs érzékem, és olyan politikai utalásokkal, amiket még allegorikus szinten sem találtam kellően okosnak a jelenlévő színészek csapatához. De ha ilyen nevek írták alá a forgatókönyvet, akkor talán bennem van a hiba, és neked lesz érzéked hozzá. An absurd political comedy that almost seems to have its origins in a play, even though it doesn't. Although it's almost schoolboyishly simple and plain, I laughed a few times, but by the halfway point, the excessive running time becomes quite noticeable, at least for a while. That said, I have to admit that compared to the previous work of this creative trio, 2017’s The Green Fog (also seen in Vary), this was quite an enjoyable screening, where I didn't feel the urge to leave the auditorium. Rumours appears from the beginning to be a sequence of political anecdotes of a very fluctuating level with an overarching satirical and somewhat surrealistic depiction of the meeting of representatives of global powers during a G7 crisis summit. Over time, however, it increasingly deteriorates into incoherent, absurd and blathering nonsense to which it’s impossible to properly assign any metaphors that would bring any sense to it, at least at the level of interpretation. And like that satire, it is merely stupidly dull. The stellar cast is the only reason that I don’t actually regret seeing it. (2024.06.29)
