Jon Maia Soria

Jon Maia is a bertsolari (improviser of Basque verse), singer, writer, filmmaker, translator and cultural agent. With a Degree in the Basque Language, he has worked as a television scriptwriter for the programmes Mihiluze, Martina and Udazkeneko lore. He has directed three documentaries: Bidai Intimoak, Apaizac Obeto and Gazta Zati Bat. He has composed lyrics for numerous Basque groups and is the founder, singer and songwriter of the group Karidadeko Benta (Gaztelupeko Hotsak). He has published several books the field of literature.
